Bridgestone Production Car Championship in East London was another action packed race event with Graeme Nathan in his VW Golf GTi brought new meaning to the phrase "Showed them flames".

It was thrills and spills all round with Michael van Rooyen, having taken pole position, connecting with Hennie Groenewald and transforming his Chev into more than one piece.

With van Rooyen out of the race it was then between Gary Formato in his Ford Racing Dealer Team Focus ST with Lee Thompson in his Castrol Mini and Graham Nathan's VW GTi for good measure. After much tyre screeching and hard braking they crossed the line lead by Lee Thompson and followed by Formato, Nathan, Smalburger, Mdakane and Duminy, in that order.

Race two's reverse grid saw Mdakane fight off Nathan and Smalberger but he succumbed to the pressures from Formato who passed him with class and disappeared over the horizon. Nathan and Mdakane battled it out and after Nathan managed to pass the Mini a little touchy feely between the two saw Nathan go careering off into the bush, which caught alight from his hot car. The red flag came out and a calculated result saw Mdakane take first place after Formato was disqualified for turbo boost infringement. Mdakane was followed by Nathan in second place, the Chevy team worked wonders and got van Rooyen back in the race to take third and Duminy crossed the line in fourth place.

The points show Graeme Nathan extend his lead to 96 followed by Michael van Rooyenon 75 and Gary Formato in third place with 65. The next Bridgestone Production race day is to be at Phakisa on the 2nd of August 2014.
