The PCX125 was the top selling Powered Two Wheeler in Europe in 2011

Date: 2014-07-11
The PCX125 was the top selling Powered Two Wheeler in Europe in 2011, with over 23,000 units sold. Its combination of crisp and contemporary 'big scooter' styling and nimble, reassuring chassis, plus a whole host of convenient design touches, make it a joy to live with on a day-to-day basis.

For 2012 the PCX125 gets Honda's brand-new eSP (enhanced Smart Power) single-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-stroke engine, designed to provide enhanced durability, even better fuel economy, increased power and torque, and even quieter operation. Honda was the first manufacturer, in 2006, to announce voluntary, per-unit CO2 emission reduction targets for all of its products (and the plants that produce them); the PCX125's improved overall efficiency is a step forward in environmental terms, in keeping with this approach.

The PCX125 is Honda's benchmark for everything a small-capacity scooter should be: practical, fashionable, and above all, fun.

Several factors drove development of Honda's next generation 125cc engine: enhanced durability with excellent performance, quieter running, reduced CO2 production and improved fuel economy.

The single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled SOHC two-valve unit employs a host of low-friction technologies to improve efficiency in terms of output and economy. Honda views the new powerplant with a global perspective: the overall weight and physical dimensions of the engine have also therefore been reduced to allow a greater packaging choice around it for a variety of platforms to come.
