KZN Women in Business looking for toys

KZN Women in Business looking for toys

Date: 2012-05-16
KZN Women in Business (KZNWIB) is more than a business networking group. Involved in their charity of choice, the Open Door Crisis Centre (ODCC), for the last three years, the group is always looking for ways in which to support this worthy organisation.

KZNWIB's latest undertaking has been the contribution of play therapy boxes to the centre's play therapy programme. Designed to help abused children tell their stories, the toys and games included in these boxes are invaluable to the work done by ODCC counselors. Thanks to the efforts of KZNWIB committee member, Isabelle de Grandpre, who organized and packed the boxes, KZNWIB members have now contributed 11 play therapy boxes to the programme.

KZNWIB is very proud of its association with Thora Mansfield and the ODCC, which at the forefront of assisting vulnerable women and children in KZN.

ODCC is still looking for children's toys and games (e.g. educational toys, dolls, dress-up clothes, puppets, art supplies, and large play items such as stoves or baby cribs) to make up more boxes. As these toys are used in play therapy sessions, they need to be clean and functional. Please do not donate broken or soiled items. If your child would play with it, the ODCC can use it!
