Stone Wealth Management Breakfast
Stone Wealth Management Breakfast
Last month saw the annual power breakfast hosted by our country's top financiers and featuring satirical cartoonist Jonathan Shapiro. Stone Wealth Management's breakfast at the Oyster Box Hotel is a sought after invitation. Each year, the movers and shakers of the South African wealth investment industry come together to share their views on the latest investment trends and the economic climate.
Stone Wealth Management is an independent, private client, wealth management practice whose focus is on investment, risk and estate planning for both individuals and trusts. Their team of financial advisors offers objective solutions and services, tailored to each client's unique circumstances and goals.
They recognise that life is a journey, and that financial security is important to that journey. As a result, they assist their clients to generate and manage wealth over time and to achieve their life goals through their financial planning process.
One of the guest speakers at this years' breakfast was Jeremy Gardiner, Director of Investec Asset Management. Jeremy has the global responsibility for all media relations, advertising, events and branding in all the jurisdictions in which Stone Wealth Management operates. Another speaker, Matthew de Wet, is the head of Investments in Nedgroup. He gave a fascinating and detailed look of the markets overview, which presented confident and comprehensive statistics of present and past economic statuses.
Joining the interesting and thought provoking presentation was Trevor Garvin, head of Multi Managed Nedgroup Investments. Trevor spoke on Asset Allocations and the latest trends. In his presentation he said, "The world is in big trouble - but we are heading in the right direction."
"South Africa has problems but we can sort them out. Everything looks a lot better in 2013, our main problem is we are still feeling the insecurity." Trevor assured the invited guests that we were over the worst of our problems and that the future was looking bright for South Africans.
The most anticipated speaker was the famous and much loved South African cartoonist Jonathan Shapiro who shows the changing of the political climate in South Africa through his hard-hitting cartoons.
The breakfast was a great big confidence boost for all those who are planning to invest in South Africa. It is hard to believe that finance and economics can be this entertaining.
