Damelin School of Banking and Insurance Launches New Corporate Identity

Damelin School of Banking and Insurance Launches New Corporate Identity

Date: 2016-06-03
Damelin School of Banking and Insurance (DSBI) proudly hosted its first corporate breakfast for the year on 27 May at the popular Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga. The event marked the dawn of a new era in banking and insurance as DSBI announced it's new, reengineered corporate identity and service offerings.

DSBI is a specialised division of Damelin, under the Educor umbrella focusing on providing education and training in the exciting field of banking and insurance. Formally known as Damelin School of Banking in 1993, the brand extended its service arm into the insurance industry, launching Damelin School of Banking and Insurance (DSBI) in the year 2010.

Two-time on stage comedy winner Carvin Goldstone kept guests entertained as compere for the morning. The programme featured influential speakers in the banking and insurance sector, including; Jay Ramsunder, President of the Financial Intermediaries Association (FIA) of South Africa and Director of Inseta and Paul A. Bowden, FNB Director of Public Sector Banking, KZN.

Guest speaker, Jay Ramsunder, enlightened guests on the vital role of the FIA as well as the growing need for more skilled consultants in the banking and insurance industry. He further encouraged guests to enquire about opportunities for training and get their staff on board. Keynote speaker, Paul A. Bowden, wowed guests with his inspiring thought-provoking presentation highlighting the ethics and standards in this highly regulated industry. He emphasised the importance of choosing a good education to ensure that all good practices are followed and adhered to.

DSBI Alumni, Alicia Narainsamy, praised DSBI lecturers for their excellent service and for helping her achieve her qualification, and become a successful consultant at Telesure today. Kapil Jaggeth, Educor Holdings Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Face-to Face brands said, "Not only is DSBI a brand that is quality driven, but our courses are structured to ensure that the employees gain workplace theoretical training which enables self-growth and promotion."

According to Shirley Pillay, DSBI General Manager: "This event is one of many contributors that will cement us as a force to be reckoned with in the banking and insurance industry. Our courses have earned the reputation as credible and usable in these sectors."
