Surf Diary Week 8, 2013

Surf Diary Week 8, 2013

Author: Shane Sykes
Date: 2013-02-21
After the results of the SA Junior Surfing Team recently, it is back to work! Training sessions with my coach, Quinton Jones (QJ), at New Pier, where conditions were pretty decent.

Salt Rock's banks have been perfect lately and the East makes it way more fun, making way for more critical manoeuvres.

It was good to see all the up and coming surfers at the KZN trials yesterday. The weekend ended off well for me with a first place in the u17 division - so that makes a good start to the year.

Later on this year the Mr. Price Pro returns to Salt Rock beach with a food festival and the usual music festival, the competition will run from the first of July to the seventh.

Shane Sykes is sponsored by Quicksilver and surfs for South Africa in the Juniors division, and not as mistakenly reported in the last issue of The Bugle. Apologies to anyone we may have offended by this.
