Bridget Masinga on how to become a One-Take Wonder
With many young people auditioning for various television shows, Masinga has found that a number of them lack the basic understanding of television and its intricate camera elements.
"Many youth, particularly those outside of Gauteng are ill-equipped with the basic skills of television. They come to auditions never having been in front of a camera before and I often find that someone with great potential loses due to a lack of proper guidance and preparation for such," says Masinga.
The "One-Take Wonder" seminar aims to equip Durban youth with the necessary skills, reading materials and hot tips on how to make it as a successful television presenter.
"I just want to help the youth of Durban, which is where I come from, to know exactly what television is about and how to flirt with the camera and get it just right for their next audition. Someone helped me and I need to help others," adds Masinga.
She shot to fame as the witty contestant during the 2002 Miss SA pageant, where she placed in the top 3 as the second runner up. Her television career began a few years after and has appeared in TV dramas such as Generations and Bay of Plenty. As a television presenter, Masinga is very experienced and beautifully poised infront of a camera. She's presented many television shows, including her recent work as presenter of the Road to Miss South Africa reality TV show on Mzansi Magic and is also revered as a vivacious presenter on Mzansi Magic's All Access, a lifestyle magazine programme.
