The Jeep Wrangler A Benchmark Off-road Vehicle

The Jeep Wrangler A Benchmark Off-road Vehicle

Date: 2014-11-21

The Jeep Wrangler comes standard with legendary, benchmark capability and a 2.8 litre Diesel engine. The rugged exterior body is in contrast to the interior, which delivers rich styling with upgraded touch surfaces, occupant comfort and versatility.

The Sahara models - the two-door Jeep Wrangler and longer, four-door Wrangler Unlimited achieve best-in-class off-road capability. With solid axles, removable doors, exposed hinges, a fold-down windshield and innovative removable and convertible tops, this duo retain the brand's coveted core values of freedom, adventure, mastery and authenticity.

Steering-wheel controls allow the driver to operate the radio, cruise control and other vehicle functions while keeping his or her hands on the wheel. With high ground clearance combined with short front and rear overhangs, the Jeep Wrangler has the ability to conquer incredibly challenging off-road obstacles especially severe inclines.

The 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder "Cheetah" turbo diesel engine offers 147 kW and 460 Nm of torque when mated to the 5-speed automatic transmission. The Wrangler is one of the few diesel engines still capable of utilising 500ppm diesel fuel. This has been especially adapted for South African conditions. The automatic transmission achieves a fuel consumption of 8.1l/100km and CO2 emissions of 213g/km.

The Jeep Wrangler features standard ESC, electronic roll mitigation (ERM), all-speed traction control, tyre pressure monitoring (TPM), Brake Assist and Hill-start Assist (HSA), which prevents rollback on a gradient. Trailer-sway Control (TSC) adds to the safety package.
