Fancy yourself a snake enthusiast, well here's your chance to participate in a one-day course on "Snake Awareness and Venomous Snake Handling".

Join Johan Marais, internationally known herpetologist and author of numerous books on snakes and reptiles in Southern Africa, for a one-day course in snake handling on Saturday, April 6, 2013.

Johan Marais is offering various new reptile "ad"ventures to reptile enthusiasts, corporates and those working in the wildlife industry. The courses include snake awareness, snake handling, first aid for snakebites and emergency procedures. Upon completion of the day course, students will receive certificates.

Johan is accredited by the International Society of Zoological Sciences, an endorsed training provider registered with the Field Guides Association of South Africa (FGASA). His snake awareness and handling courses are approved by NOSA. This day long special course will be taking place at Gooderson Leisure's DumaZulu Game Lodge and Cultural Village in Hluhluwe on Saturday, April 6 at a cost of R980 per person.

For those partners accompanying reptile enthusiasts who may be a little nervous of the critters in the park, there is also an abundance of friendly game to view, such as Red and Grey Duiker,Bush Buck, Mongoose, Crested Guinea fowls and Bush Babies. DumaZulu has also proved a real bird lover's paradise. Visiting birds that can be spotted include the Spotted Blue Mantled Flycatcher, Yellow-bellied Brown Bul, Yellow streaked Brown Bul, Dark-Backed Weaver, Gorgeous Bush Shrike, Trumpeter Hornbills, Crowned Hornbills, Grey Wax Bill and Eastern Nicator.

That's why it is a good idea tomake a weekend of it. Nature lovers can enjoy the beautiful Zululand bush for only R2000 per person for the weekend on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis (inclusive of the snake handling course). To make a booking, contact Heinz Fritz on 035 5622260 or 0722242268.
