Ladysmith Black Mambazo Present The Inanda Dam World Music Festival
Ladysmith Black Mambazo are hosting the 2ndannual Inanda Dam World Music Festival on Sunday, 29March 2020 from 10:00am at Inanda Dam in KwaZulu- Natal. The festival is a fun-filled affair which will kick start the five-time Grammy Award-winning group's 60 year celebrations.The star-studded line-up includesLadysmith Black Mambazo, Unathi, Vusi Nova, AKA, Mondli Ngcobo, Malini and Naima Kay. The tickets for the Inanda Dam World Music Festival are now available through Computicket at R250.00.
Says Sibongiseni Shabalala of Ladysmith Black Mambazo: "Inanda Dam World Music Festival begins the series of events planned for 2020, celebrating the legacy of the group's founder, Professor Joseph Shabalala. Other planned events to take place during Ladysmith Black Mambazo's 60thyear celebrations include The Professor Joseph Shabalala Memorial Lecture to be held at the University of KwaZulu-Natal to coincide with the late Joseph Shabalala's birthday in August, a cultural event in honour of the late Professor Joseph Shabalala to be held in Ladysmith in September and the Isicathamiya Festival to be held at Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg later in the year."
At the Inanda Dam World Music Festival, The Ladysmith Black Mambazo Mobile Academy Hour will be held to launch and showcase the groups discovered through Ladysmith Black Mambazo's nationwide talent search held in 2019. Groups include Di Teng Teng Happy Boys from Limpopo, Meduduetsane Basadi from Northern Cape, Afrika Mamas and Young Mbazo from KwaZulu-Natal and Mohlakeng Acapellas from the Free State.
The festival on 29 March will be hosted by Gagasi FM's Zola Zee Loving and Khaya Dladla.The DJs will include Happy Gal, Sjerere, Kotini, Vumar and Sithelo.
Food and beverage stalls will be available on site. However, patrons are encouraged to bring along their camp chairs, umbrellas, gazebos, braai stands and picnic baskets to enjoy the fun-filled day of music.
