That was Christmas; that was New Year's, back to school is still rustling with book covering, (do they still do this Do they still have books ) as the shock of the credit card statement seeps in and the utterly exorbitant expense of education staggers some of our senses, it's a new year, it's a new day, but it's the same old kak as before.
Continuously news of government agencies trying to use state funds for their personal expenses keeps flooding in, the rallying of politicians grows in enthusiasm as the elections creep ever closer. The sight of Cyril on the same podium as Jacob is a testament to just how skewed our perspective as a nation is. Does he have to embrace the state capture crew in order to secure a win in this years election Calls for State Capture to be seen as an act of treason have got me asking, "Really Do we have to ask for treason to be seen as treason just because we gave it a nice nickname "
Then Jimmy shot up in the ranks of the ATM political party, before you could blink the former owner of the Gupta's media company was appointed NEC for the political party, African Transformation Movement. It's like the game of snakes and ladders from my childhood, only more entertaining.
Meanwhile Zimbabwe has exploded after Emmerson increased their fuel prices by nearly 300%, making it the most expensive petrol in the world. Live ammunition was employed as the police set about trying to restore law and order. It's so bad there right now that they blocked social media, that's how it all starts.
The American government is still in partial shut down as Donald baby keeps up the pressure to pay for his wall, a campaign promise that has divided the American political scene, presumably to the delight of his opposition. And to add to his dilemma there is a new caravan that just left Honduras, headed his way.
The shenanigans of his pawn, Mike Pompeo, in the middle east brings tears of frustration to the eyes of many as the American position seesaws from one side to the other. Iran touted as a major threat to world peace might just have something to do with the fact that their central bank does not belong to the World Bank or the IMF, and their latest launch of a satellite that failed to reach orbit might just illustrate the point that there is not so much in the US allegations.
I had hoped that over the festive season the British politicians would have sorted out their squabbles and made a go of Brexit, their overwhelming vote against Theresa's plan a sure sign, but for me it seems that Jeremy Corbin displayed the most juvenile response to his slipping grip on reality when he challenged Theresa with a no confidence vote. I think a no deal Brexit is the only way, then they will be forced to make a fresh start in the world trade and they have the goods to do it. The real problem that the Brits are facing is their neo-liberalism, which is strangling their nation, and don't talk to me about trickle down economics unless you want me to puke.
