Samsung

Samsung

Date: 2013-05-30
Samsung said earlier this month that its new handheld cellular device, the Galaxy S4, will reach 10 million devices sold within a month of its release. This is very impressive, considering that its predecessor, the Galaxy S3, took 50 days to pass 10 million sold, making the S4 almost twice as fast selling. Samsung says that the phone will hit the 10 million mark sometime next week.

More from Samsung, as their engineers have made history as they became the first people to create technology that will allow for 5G mobile networking. Currently, 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the fastest way to for mobile devices to connect to the internet, offering speeds of up to 75 Mbps. Samsung said its new adaptive array transceiver tech uses 64 antenna elements, and transmits data in the millimetre-wave band at a frequency of 28 GHz at a speed of up to 1.056 Gbps to a distance of up to 2 kilometres.Additional reports claim the tech will reportedly enable upload and download speeds of up to 10 Gbps.

As mobile technology evolves, we begin to imagine what can be possible with a 10 Gbps Internet connection available to us on the move. At that speed, you could download your favourite movie in less than a second. Speeds as fast as that over the air was never imagined by previous generations.
