Quadruple Blessings for Durban Mom

Quadruple Blessings for Durban Mom

Durban Mom, 24, Stunned as Triplet Pregnancy Becomes Quadruplets - All Baby Boys

A young mother from Inanda township, Durban, has welcomed a rare and unexpected blessing - four baby boys, after doctors initially believed she was carrying triplets.

Bongiwe Hlongwane, 24, delivered the surprise quadruplets via Caesarean section at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital. It was only during the delivery that the medical team realised an additional baby had been hidden during earlier scans.

Born at just eight months, the boys each weighed between 1.5 kg and 1.8 kg. Despite arriving prematurely, all four newborns are stable and are being cared for in the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

For the first-time mother, the unexpected news has been both overwhelming and joyous.

"I love them, and I pray to God to keep them healthy," Bongiwe said, expressing her gratitude for the safe arrival of her sons.

Her remarkable story has quickly become a source of inspiration and excitement in her community - a reminder of the surprises and miracles that childbirth can bring.
