Miss Deaf South Africa 2012

Miss Deaf South Africa 2012

Date: 2012-09-12
The 2012 Miss Deaf Pageant was held at La Montagne Resort, Pumpkin Theatre, Ballito on the 8th of September. The contestants were chosen from all over the country by a call for entries. The reigning Miss Deaf SA, Shelley Buckle, has been instrumental in raising the profile of the pageant by her personal involvement in fundraising and promoting the brand of the pageant.

The Miss Deaf South Africa Pageant was registered and founded by Narda and Gert Els in 2001. The pageant is organized by Gert en Narda Els, owners of Miss Deaf South Africa cc (MDSA), non-profitable organization that was established in 2001. The MDSA has a mission to become a vehicle for crossing the communication gap between the Deaf and Hearing communities. To achieve this, they organize and annual beauty pageant to showcase the undiscovered talent in the Deaf society of South Africa and create life changing experiences and other opportunities for deaf and hearing impaired young girls.

The winners:
Sibongile Nhlapo, 2nd Princess, Simone Botha, the winner of Miss Deaf SA, Marisa Smit, 1st princess, Shelly Buckle, Miss deaf SA 2011 winner.
