Palm Lakes to host Race 4
The Duathlon Series is a national event, comprising 6 races taking place from March to August across the country. The Duathlon receives national TV coverage and is broadcast on DSTV's channel 206 (SuperSport). Palm Lakes will be hosting the KZN leg of the Duathlon, providing the necessary off-road track for the event.
The Duathlon will take place on the 10th of June 2012, and will include a Brat Race (8am) and a Kiddies Race (8:15am) with the main race beginning at 9:15am. Prize money for the series as a whole exceeds R300 000, with winners and top athletes receiving up to R5000 in individual races. Schools who enter teams of 10 or more athletes will be refunded R1000 per event, while the school with the most entries accumulated over the series will win R20 000.
Palm Lakes' involvement in the KZN race is in line with the estate's dedication to supporting the local community and providing a healthy, family oriented, outdoors lifestyle. Says Wim Sak, CEO of Royal Palm Holdings, "We are so pleased to be a part of this event. The fact that the 4th race is taking place at Palm Lakes is not simply a matter of location. This is our community and we are proud of our local athletes, making our involvement in the Duathlon Series much more personal."
