Nico Rosberg's winning streak continued unabated in this past Sunday's Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. His teammate Lewis Hamilton suffered a nasty turn of fate when Valtteri Bottas made contact with him in his Williams. Bottas was given a drive penalty for his transgression.

This forced Lewis back as far as ninth position and through some valiant driving he managed to fight back and still take the solitary podium position of fourth place.

Rosberg rustled the chequered flag with his slipstream a full ten point two seconds ahead of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen, while Kimi’s teammate Sebastien Vettal failed to get his Ferrari to the start line due to engine trouble.

The choice of the three tyre compounds really opened up the race a lot giving teams a lot to think about. Felipe Massa attempted a two-stop strategy on medium tyres but just could not get the speed he needed and had to settle for eight position.

Mercedes Benz’ Nico Rosberg leads the F1 championship race so far with 50 points with Lewis Hamilton trailing at 33 in the other Mercedes. Daniel Ricciardo brings his Red Bull to third position with Kimi Raikkonen holding fourth place to Ferrari.

The next event is the Pirelli Chinese Grand Prix from the 15th to the 17th April, don’t miss out on the action.
