F1 Report

F1 Report

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo burst onto the F1 scene this year and immediately made his intentions clear. What a fantastic start to his F1 career, his third win for the season puts him in third place for the driver's championship.

Nico Rosberg might not have deserved the booing he got for his second place after touching his teammate Lewis Hamilton early in the race. This proved to be the most controversial incident of the event, and I'm not taking sides.

Williams-Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas pulled out the necessary stops to pass Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari and secure the third place on the podium.

World Champion titleholder Sebastian Vettel had a race on his hands to bring his Red Bull racer over the line in fifth place.

It was a race of strategy and steel nerves, packed with thrilling moves and excitement.

The season's points standing with seven races left has German Nico Rosberg in first position with 220 points. Lewis Hamilton follows after Belgium's event on 191 points and the newcomer Australian Daniel Ricciardo moves into third place on 156 points. Fourth place is Fernando Alonso with 121, fifth is Valtteri Bottas with 110 and Sebastian Vettel trails in sixth with 98.

Next race is at Italy's Autodromo di Monza on Sunday the 7th of September at 2pm.
