DA Statement on the passing of Councillor Malcolm Hubner
Words can not express how saddened we are, as the KDM family, to learn of the passing of Councillor Malcom "Ibhubesi" Hubner.
The Democratic Alliance is incredibly saddened by the untimely passing of Councillor Malcolm Hubner on Sunday afternoon, 31 March 2019. Councillor Hubner served on the Executive Committee (EXCO) for the KwaDukuza Municipality as well as being the DA's Chief Whip in the Ilembe District Municipality. He also served as the Ilembe Constituency Chairperson for a number of years.
Malcolm was a dedicated community man who never shied away from helping those in need; no matter what their social or financial status was. He thrived on 'getting the job done' and was a man of action for his voters.
Malcolm was also a fountain of wisdom for those he worked with, myself included and was never afraid to voice his opinion. His passing will leave a massive void in the Democratic Alliance and the community he served; which will not be easily filled.
On behalf on the DA, we offer our sincere condolences to Councillor Hubner's family, including his wife and children during this difficult period. We pray they will take comfort in the extraordinary, servant filled life that Councillor Hubner has lived.
