Road upgrade to strengthen economic mobility and create more jobs
P107 adjoins Doringkop to our Central Business District. This is a massive project that will create more jobs and strengthen economic mobility.
Following these common sense actions, KwaDukuza Mayor Ricardo Mthembu has congratulated the MEC for Transport, thanking him for honouring his call to act on the plight of motorists who travel on the P107.
"We applaud the KZN MEC for Transport, Willies Mchunu for acting on his promise. We have had some engagements where I personally implored him about concerns that where being raised by the public and what responsible steps we take to re-develop P107. The current infrastructure has served well, had its share in society but now needs to go on grounds of its condition.
Now, the actions we are taking would not only strengthen our economy and create jobs but would also promote safety and economic agility in one of our strategic entry point", said Mthembu.
The contractor will be on site for the next twelve months. We are calling for tolerance in view of heavy duty roadworks that will result to traffic congestions during the course of construction.
"The P107 is elongated in Lindelani (Ward 05), Doringkop (Ward 1 & 25) and Nyathikazi (Ward 3).
