Camelot Spa at The Pearls

Camelot Spa at The Pearls

Author: Kasia Yoko
Date: 2017-10-11

The feeling that a spa treatment was well overdue was overwhelming and I could not put it off any longer. I needed to be pampered and I needed it right away. With so many spa options to choose from, how does one choose the venue Not just to unwind, but to enjoy the full benefits of a real spa experience.

Camelot Spa at The Pearls was recommended to me by my friend, she has recently visited the spa with her daughter and could not stop raving about their experience. She ooo'd and aah'd about the tranquillity and the set up of the newly opened spa at The Pearls in Umhlanga. I just had to try it.

On entering I was warmly welcomed by the spa manageress, Sohana Laljit, who introduced me to my therapist, Songi. My first impressions were the freshness and the exotic aroma of the beautiful space. The peace and tranquillity, oh and the breath taking ocean views, which greeted me from the moment I walked in. This has to be one of the best Spa views in Umhlanga.

Songi explained the house rules and asked me to change into a fluffy gown and slippers after that she took me to a warm therapy room where the magic happened. The sensation of hot aromatic oil being poured on my aching body was a feeling almost impossible to describe in words.

My senses rejoiced and there were strange sounds of delight emanating from my being right throughout the hour's treatment that I had booked. Needless to say that when the time was up I almost burst out crying, "What would I not do to extend this hour for another hour " However there was no time and I was escorted off to change into my swimming costume. Songi showed me to a salt floatation tank where I disappeared into sensory oblivion for a 30-minute rest and restoration session.

Nothing beats the benefits of deep relaxation and an aromatherapy tissue massage. For centuries it has been credited with longevity and good overall health and when it is done in the beautiful, tranquil setting of The Pearls in Umhlanga, the experience is enhanced that much more. I emerged completely revitalised and ready to face the world and its tribulations once again.

Parking is very easy and it is free, just ask for direction when booking your appointment.
