Biomimicry - Innovation Inspired by Nature at the BotSoc KZN

Biomimicry - Innovation Inspired by Nature at the BotSoc KZN

Date: 2014-07-11
Every so often an idea comes around that is a game changer. After we hear it and understand it, we never see the world quite the same ever again. Biomimicry is such an idea. It shows that a sustainable world already exists. Innovative solutions to our sustainability andother design challenges already existwithin nature and have been tested over eons to be truly effective.Nature's ecosystems offer a vision of a world that works for life rather than against it. Biomimicry offers a practical approach to get there.

Claire Janisch, the Founder and Director of BiomimicrySA, will speak on Biomimicry - Innovation Inspired by Nature at the BotSoc KZN Coastal Branch AGM on Sunday, 20 July, at the Durban Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre at 3 pm.

Claire 's presentation will introduce the field of biomimicry including inspiring case studies to illustrate, with a focus on the world of plants and what we are learning from them.

There is no charge. Refreshments will be served. All welcome. RSVP for catering purposes to: email:botsoc-kzn@mweb.co.za or tel: 031 2015111 / 071 8693693.
