It's that time of the year when learners, currently in Matric, have the opportunity to get ahead in life by entering the amazing bursary competition held by The International Hotel School.
IHS guarantees worldwide status, with graduates being recognised around the world for their dedication to exceptional service in the hospitality industry.
Now in its eighth year of hosting this national competition, The International Hotel School is proud to announce that the winner from each campus will win a 100% of their tuition fees for any IHS programme they wish to study. This year the overall national prize value has increased and now totals R210 000.
If you think you have what it takes to make your career in the hospitality industry, then enter, entries closes on May 31st! All you have to do is complete a minimum of four days' work experience in any hospitality environment, to get a 'feel' of what the industry is all about! Passion is the main driver of those who pursue a career in this type of industry and IHS are looking for passionate people.
Along with the details of your work experience, entrants will be expected to submit a detailed project and application form after which the semi-finalists will be selected in each region to undergo an interview process.
From here the finalists will be chosen and then each finalist will be invited to participate in a five day hospitality "boot camp" with the winner being announced on the final day!
"Each of the three bursary winners has to be someone who will contribute to the industry and be the best for the industry, so as part of their project, we expect each entrant to tell us why they should win this bursary, be it via a written letter, electronic presentation or video, it is up to them to get creative." Commented Ruth Paulsen, The International Hotel School's Marketing Manager.
Application Forms, the project, and job shadowing/work experience documentation need to be sent to the campus you are applying at by 31 May 2014. Entrants may only apply at one campus. Download the entry form today via
