Re/Max Of Southern Africa Launches Charity Foundation
While RE/MAX of Southern Africa has donated in excess of R7-million to various charity organisations over the past seven years, in an effort to better co-ordinate its corporate social investment initiatives, and in order to support a range of worthy causes, RE/MAX of Southern Africa launched The RE/MAX of Southern Africa Foundation, late last year.
Peter Gilmour, Chairman of RE/MAX of Southern Africa and of The RE/MAX Foundation, says that The Foundation has been established as public benefit organisation (PBO) that aims to promote and inspire southern African people to improve themselves and strive to be the very best they can be.
He explains that central to the RE/MAX Formula - the company's operating philosophy - is its commitment to giving back to the communities in which it operates. "It is for this reason that we decided to launch The RE/MAX Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that will focus on supporting a variety of worthy causes both financially and through the collection and donation of various items."
The RE/MAX Foundation will offer the RE/MAX of Southern Africa offices a vehicle through which to give back to their local communities through various initiatives. RE/MAX of Southern Africa offices can also financially support the foundation through becoming Founder Donors, which are categorised into Platinum, Gold and Silver in accordance with the level of financial contribution.
Gilmour says that The RE/MAX Foundation will also look to 10 corporate sponsors per country to commit to donating a set amount per annum for a three year period. In return, corporate sponsors will be recognised through marketing material and The Foundation webpage, https://www.remax.co.za/foundation.
Due to the fact that The RE/MAX Foundation is a registered PBO, donors will receive tax benefits in respect of their donations.
The RE/MAX Foundation has appointed a full time manager, Sandy Smith, who will co-ordinate and manage all the fundraising, sponsorships and promotional aspects of The Foundation. Smith, who has a wealth of expertise in a range of fields and more than 20-years worth of event co-ordination and promotion experience, looks forward to positively contributing to the improvement and upliftment of southern African communities through successfully driving various RE/MAX Foundation initiatives.
Gilmour notes that The RE/MAX Foundation will pay particular attention to those projects which focus on the upliftment and development of the southern African youth. "The youth will be the ones to ensure success and sustainability for generations to come. What we invest in the generations of today will impact greatly on the generations of tomorrow."
