Lets put Style back in Style

Lets put Style back in Style

A chance encounter, a hot pursuit and a vintage Jaguar, led to a meeting at the Beverly Hills Hotel last Friday morning with the stylish and super interesting June Schmanmann.

"I did not know what was happening when I saw this beautiful man running towards me in my parking lot." June explained, "As he approached me he said, 'I love your car' Oh I must tell you my heart sank just a little bit."

The beautiful man was John Aritho, the newly appointed General Manager at Beverly Hills hotel and the car in question is a Vintage 1973 Jaguar XJ6, Series 2, which for the last fifty five years has been June's pride and joy. It is a wedding anniversary gift from her late husband Sunny.

June is a beautiful woman; she exudes classic grace and style and she is not afraid to tell you her age, she knows she is smoking hot, however not in an arrogant way, more in the way she carries herself and her beautifully spoken words that conceal her long lost European heritage.

This Hungarian beauty remembers the good old days, when going out meant getting dressed up to the nines, in long evening gowns and high heels, and the only way to get to the hottest club in town, which in those days was the Copacabana at the Beverly Hills hotel, was over dirt roads and across bumpy farm roads and it took forever but once you got there the fun never ceased.

June Schmanmann was and still is, in every sense of the word a 'Stunner!' she worked and still continues to work as a ramp model for many famous designers and brands. When not enjoying the festivities at Beverly Hills hotel, she would be found modelling the latest fashions on local stages and filming commercials for brands like Rothmans July.

June particularly enjoyed the festivities at Copacabana, where champagne flowed all night and beautiful people were there for just one thing: fun. She fondly remembers Copacabana's, suave maître d'hôtel, Monsieur Jagantry. A flawlessly coifed gentleman with impeccable silver hair, which he wore in a stylish bob, with a perfectly groomed thin black moustache, which he needed to regularly touch up with black shoe polish, leaving some ladies in distress as he would leave black stains on their hands and arms after a passionate French greeting.

"The 60's, the 70's and the 80's were the best years." June tells me, "We had so much fun and people loved to entertain then, there was a sense of invincibility about us and life was good."

The champagne coloured Jaguar is a true reminder of those better days and the splendid abundance, which the Natalians enjoyed so many moons ago. While June Schmanmann is a perfect example of the good old days, she is also an advocate for healthy wholesome living. At 83 years of age she is a 100% natural beauty, never having to alter her looks with fillers or botox, even her hair colour is natural.

So here's to the good old days, to loyal Jaguar drivers, to the endless days and nights of splendour at Beverly Hills hotel and to the natural beauty we all possess deep down inside.
