Red Bull Flies To Finish

Red Bull Flies To Finish

Author: Tomas Yoko

After practice and qualifying it seemed pretty clear that Sebastian Vettel was going to dominate the second Indian Grand Prix race on Sunday and that is exactly what he did.

His teammate Mark Webber was the only other driver to come close to challenging Vettel, but even that was short lived. Vettel has now led from start to finish for three consecutive races producing the kind of dominance I was expecting from the Red Bull team since the beginning of the season, and winning with an impressive 9,4 second lead that pushed the German to 13 points in the lead for the driver's championship.

Mark Webber lost second place to a determined Fernando Alonso after suffering some KERS difficulties and just managed to hold onto third place after a determined challenge by Lewis Hamilton in his McLaren Mercedes. The Red Bull Team's performance in India put them firmly in the lead in the constructor's championship with a total of 407 points, followed by Ferrari with 316. McLaren lie third on 306 points and Lotus-Renault are fourth with 263.

In the driver's standings Vettel has leapt ahead to 240 points followed by Alonso with 227. Kimi Raikkonen managed to maintain third place with 173 points and the challengers Mark Webber has 167 in fourth place and Lewis Hamilton in fifth with 165.

Once again it was down to tyre management by the teams to remain competitive and you can talk to Fuzail at Hi-Q Stanger about which tyres are best suited to your needs.
