"A STAR IS BORN" Christmas Extravaganza
Durban Christian Centre is producing a Christmas Extravaganza, "A Star is born" at the Jesus Dome on December 19, 20 and 21 at 7.00 pm each evening.
There will be a 30-piece orchestra conducted by the professional director of arts at Durban Christian Centre, Martin Sigamoney and 60-piece choir, DCC Voices.
One of the featured artists will be Melvin Peters, one of the country's finest jazz pianists and well known on the international music circuit. He has performed locally and internationally in France, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, and more recently, Spain. He is currently the organist and choirmaster at St Paul's Church Durban. He has performed with the Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra on several occasions.
The extravaganza is a family, feel-good Christmas production using music, drama and dance to tell the story of the birth of Jesus who is the real reason for the season. A "Star is born" is a unique musical stage production and the first of its kind presented by the Durban Christian Centre.
