Durban model supports Tafta TrailRun 2017

Date: 2017-10-19

Durban model and former Miss South Africa finalist Julia Petersen has pledged to support The Association for the Aged (Tafta) in its annual Trail Run event, scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 19, at Virginia Bush Nature Reserve.

The event, which resonates Tata's mission to "Inspire Active Ageing", provides the public an opportunity to make a valuable difference in the lives of needy senior citizens through their participation. All proceeds from the event will contribute towards providing a 3 course meal to Tafta elders during the festive period.

"We are delighted to have Julia Petersen support our event which not only celebrates the amazing running scenery at our doorstep, it's also about inspiring people to make running an adventure, to push their limits and have fun while supporting a worthy cause," says Gail Samuels, Divisional Manager, Income Development and Marketing.

Petersen has called on fitness enthusiasts to join in this fun-filled experience which allows participants to make their race count, by doing a good deed, while achieving their workout for the day.

The trail run newbie says she is looking forward to the experience which she says gives her a chance to make a difference.

"Tafta has always been very close to my heart and I am looking forward to being part of this great initiative," said Petersen.

Participants can choose to compete in the 4km at a cost of R50 or 8km at a cost of R80.

Pre-registration can be completed at https://www.roag.co.za or https://www.wardevents.co.za and on-the-day registration begins promptly at 5:45am. The race is scheduled to begin at 7am from Virginia Preparatory School.
