Chatsworth Fair promises fun, fun, fun

Chatsworth Fair promises fun, fun, fun

Date: 2018-06-22

The annual community fundraising initiative, the Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair, will be bringing family fun to the Chatsworth Circus site - adjacent to the Chatsworth Stadium - from 26 to 29 July, 2018.

"We are very excited to announce a really fun-filled programme for this year's Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair, with something planned for all ages and tastes," said Jay Marrie, Fundraising/Donor Relations for ABH. "The fair, which has been running since 1989, is always a highlight on the Chatsworth community calendar and we have planned an even bigger event for this year's celebrations."

Since 1921, the Aryan Benevolent Home (ABH) has provided holistic care for children, the elderly and the physically or mentally challenged regardless of race, religion or social class. The fair is the primary source of funding for this non-profit organisation, which provides residential facilities and developmental care to more than 690 people nationally.

Learners to this year's Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair will enjoy a host of funfair activities. There is free entrance for all students into the fair which boasts more than 100 stalls selling food and retail products.

There will be a schools' special Open Day on Thursday, 26 and Friday, 27 July for all primary and secondary schools. The Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair will be running dedicated edu-fair schools' programme running on both days.

Two of Bollywood's well known playback celebrities - Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Amit Kumar - will put on two special evening performances for lucky audiences. These superstar singers will feature at two special events, forming part of the Serendipity Travel ABH Chatsworth Fair - Durban's Greatest Charity Event.

On Saturday, 28 July, from 8pm to 11pm, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Amit Kumar will perform at the Chatsworth Circus site. The cost of unreserved seating is R100 and R150.

Fair admission for Friday and Sunday is R20 for adults and R10 for children. The admission for Saturday is R35 for adults and R20 for children.
