What the actual fuck Did nobody listen during history class in school Has anyone seen a date line ever I was taught that the first person to colonise the open country that Jan van Riebeck "discovered", (and I wiggle the first two fingers of each hand in a claw like fashion in the air as I say this), was a man of colour by the name of Simon van der Stel, when he proclaimed Stellenbosch. Those days there wasn't apartheid so men of colour could do this. So I am gob smacked when politicians, whom I expect to have the most basic understanding of who we are, where we're at, how we got here and how to move foreword from here, start saying stupid shit like "white people should stop taking up land that belongs to Africans at the cemeteries, they should go bury their loved ones overseas where they come from." So says Land Affairs Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. Now I don't want to be one of those Umlungus who bitch and moan and constantly find fault, and then point out the fault in an effort to drag everything down. I want to be the guy who looks for the positive, who tries to spread the positive, create it if it doesn't exist. But this land reform populist movement has everybody losing their marbles. The ANC Government spent fifty billion Rand on land reform but says Maite, "still only 4% of the land in SA is owned by blacks." Maite is threatening the same thing the ANC government has been promising for the last 20 years or more. Here, let me spell it out for you. THERE IS PROVISION FOR LAND EXPROPRIATION WITHOUT COMPENSATION IN THE CONSTITUTION OF OUR GREAT LAND SOUTH AFRICA, AND IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE 1996. So for 24 years it's been there and not much has been done with it.
Maite obviously didn't read the News 24 story about how 73,5% of farmland in KZN is owned by blacks, she presented a statistic claiming that only 4% of land in SA is owned by blacks. Is this 'Fake News' Could she get it so wrong Has she been misinformed What about the rumours that the Government is sitting on over four thousand farms that were handed over/ bought off white farmers in the willing buyer willing seller program, none of which have been transferred to black owners
Does she think that she won't have to go through the judicial process of expropriation of any land she wishes to claim Why are our people being so openly misled and nobody is saying anything about it How can an official expound such putrid drivel and not be corrected or directed Is this a political game that's being played with the people
And then our children are falling into pit latrines at schools and dying, but we want to spend millions on changing the names of places. I say change the names yes, but there's a long list of things that come before that.
