We need your old clothing!
We need your old clothing!
Please can we have your old / unused clothes - particularly, but not exclusively, men's clothes, for an initiative to help support the city's poor.
The Denis Hurley Centre (DHC) is an initiative of the Emmanuel Cathedral supported by respected faith leaders, in the heart of Durban's inner city. The DHC will be a custom-made, multi-functional building positioned between the magnificent Juma Musjid mosque and the grand old Emmanuel Cathedral which will care for the needs of the city's poor and destitute.
Currently the Cathedral's outreach projects are run from the nearby Surat Hindu Building. Many of the people making use of the outreach projects are in desperate need of clothes and shoes: mostly men, and mostly in smaller sizes - although any clothes and shoes would be welcomed. Pse drop them off at the Cathedral reception, or contact Sister Marion on marion.millane@yahoo.com or call the Emmanuel Cathedral on 031306 35 95.
The Denis Hurley Centre still needs funds and resources to complete the building, and to develop its myriad projects and initiatives. For more information about the Denis Hurley Centre, visit their website on http://www.denishurleycentre.org
