Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

Author: Kasia Yoko
Date: 2023-01-28
Hello 2023! Hello beautiful Bugle readers! It?s a new year and new endless possibilities. Life as we know it has travelled a full circle around the sun and we are all waking up to endless possibilities. From my desk, the future looks uncertain. But nothing beats this view. Nothing compares to the warm South African hospitality and our perfect climate. We are indeed custodians of the ?paradise particle? and whatever happens out there, we, here on the ground in KZN, cannot overlook the humongous potential and super power of our heritage and our own determination. This year is going to be different. It might not be an easy financially. We might have to adjust and rearrange a few unwanted possessions. We might need to say goodbye to that diesel guzzling car and that mansion on the hill. They are just things. We know how to compromise; Covid gave us unparalleled life lessons on concession, which, fortunately we should put into practice to avoid failure. Like you, I am counting my blessings and shedding what no longer serves me. I am not scared to be humble and accept kindness from my tribe. It?s vulnerability I know only too well having been a political refugee and an immigrant. There is no shame in lifestyle down grade. So here I am, 28 years later, and still writing this column. I am still touching lives of the people in my community as I try to be the best version of myself. I have shed a lot of ?stuff? and gained a few pounds but I have acknowledged the fundamentals ? it will not get easier and it will never get back to normal. So, I am scribing this first column from the overheated sky shack, which my neighbour told me looks like it belongs in Soweto. Listening to soothing drums and soft chimes coming from the YouTube channel powered by generous friend?s inverter. I am mapping my future. I know that I cannot do it on my own, I need my village to do it with me, I know that if I put my entire heart and soul into this new reality, I will not fail.2023 holds many challenges for all of us around the world. The great reset will try and rob us of our voice and will try to dim our precious shine but if we just believe in the power of universal love, our light will continue to shine and elevate others to shine with us.I would like to take this opportunity to thank every one of you who have stood by me and never faltered. You are the rock that keeps me waking up and yearning to venture out and create beautiful tales to inspire and motivate. Your support is humbling and so enormously appreciated. Come and join us as we prepare fro the best year ever. Join Christo and Tracey as they show you how to navigate the rough seas of life.
