Wow there it was, the shame of the nation bared for the world to see with our "leadership" behaving in a most barbaric manner, Then, probably the only Minister 'we-the-people' have on our side, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan delivered his budget speech and some people want to necklace him. It's outrageous.
However that is not anywhere near as outrageous as the continued genocide against white farmers. This pandemic really does need to be stomped out before we do the Mother Hubbard thing and go to the store to find that there is no food left on the shelves. One thing we really should consider is that we were shown the way by our friend Bob, the painfully aged President of Zimbabwe, who led his country from a food producing state to a land of famine and starvation. Lucky they had us down here in South Africa to help them through their famine, but who do we turn to if that situation arrives on our doorstep Australia is too far away.
However it is not just our leaders who are shuffling their cabinets to allow free access to the state coffers, this is a "modus operandi" the world over. Like Collins Letsoalo who was gifted the acting CEO position of PRASA, Passenger Rail Agency South Africa. He mouthed off about the nearly fourteen billion rand loss PRASA made under the guidance of former CEO Lucky Montana. He quickly started demanding a nearly six million Rand salary package like his predecessor got.
The worst illustration of how far we have come is the Esidimenideaths of over a hundred patients, of whom some were left to starve to death. Leadership the world over is failing us-the-people and I am continually dreaming of a new system of governance. I just hope that that is not treason.
Over in Korea, they are livid about the deal their military did with retail giant Lotte, swapping a golf course for some military owned land near the capitol of South Korea and green lighting the THAAD, Terminal High Altitude Area Defence missile system to go in the golf course. What a waste of a golf course. Anyway the Korean people are suing their military for this dastardly deal.
Our military put on a radical display in Durban recently with speculations of an imminent civil war breaking out or a military coup in the making, nobody really knew what was happening and then the tragic loss of life from a leaking gas cylinder. So sad.
Back to military matters abroad and American moves to put sanctions on Syria seem to be designed to undermine the efforts being made to put a stop to the crazy conflict.
The Ukrainian conflict just continues to fester with the boiling point teetering in the balance and the suffering of the poor people of the region continuing with little relief in sight.
The most perplexing is Americas vendetta against Russia and the seemingly single minded attempt to destroy any chance of peace between the two super powers, "The current state of relations between Russia and the United States, as we all know, to put it mildly, leaves much to be desired. It is no exaggeration to say that our relations today are, in fact, at their worst for the whole period after the Cold War,"said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov. Hopefully Trump can mend that problem.
