Global Peace Ambassador Award Conferred On Jeevie Pillay from Sharon Stone

Jeevie Pillay, well known Durban resident and the wife of the Speaker of the House of the eThekwini Municipality, Councillor Logie Naidoo, was recently bestowed with the Global Peace Ambassador Award in Milan by Sharon Stone.

Ms Stone was the chief guest at the event and spoke about her own struggle against a neurological stroke she suffered in 2010. She is a Peace Ambassador and has been building schools for children in war torn countries.

She is also a Global activist against HIV-AIDS. Ms Stone threw a bouquet of flowers to the audience saying that the person who caught it would become a global peace Ambassador.

Jeevie Pillay, being the shortest person in the room caught the flowers and was invited up on stage to introduce herself to the large audience

It was heartening to note that Jeevie was indeed a social worker and has worked a lot with children, Ms Stone was thrilled to hear of this Jeevie was delighted at receiving this award and reaffirms for commitment to the cause of children in the world

The Global Peace Award went to Dr. Hawa Adhi of Somalia who runs a children's village for those affected by war.
