The Eskom crisis was in full cry, expectations were that the interest rates would soar, property prices were about to collapse and the government was in crisis. Paradise was under siege.
Then it got worse! The new King Shaka Airport was never going to be built and the soccer stadium would never be ready for 2010!! Enough of this, I loaded everyone into my jeep and drove to the airport site. We managed to get in via the canfield roads and unchecked drove all over the site, underground and then down the brand new runway!
Well guess what - the new soccer stadium was ready for 2010 and King Shaka airport is fully operational.
What now? Oh, the water crisis, Zuma, the Rand.
Countries all over the World have valued water for decades. Bottled water is only recently a prolific shopping basket item in South Africa. Government was always going to be a learning curve for us. Could we have predicted this? The answer is simpleyes. Will we overcome it? Again the answer is simple.yes.
