Driving Hyundai's Fresh i20

Driving Hyundai's Fresh i20

Author: Tomas Yoko

As the popularity of the Hyundai brand just keeps growing, I was delighted to have the opportunity to test drive the newest, freshest Hyundai i20.

The i20 is one of the top selling models for the Hyundai brand and when I took my test model through its paces it was glaringly obvious why.

In the back of my mind the statistics of the I20's reliability figures were swimming around, and in the front of my mind all I could think about was the ease at which the i20 put me when I was behind the wheel. Everything seemed to be smooth, the transmission was effortless, the balance and road holding was sublime and the suspension smoothed out the ride making the i20 a very comfortable option.

Hyundai has refreshed the exterior looks of the i20 as well as the interior, adding a range of tech items and specs along with service plans and warranties for the six derivatives in the i20 range.

On the tech side the infotainment system, complete with Bluetooth and more, can also be upgraded to include satellite navigation with an optional SD memory card that wont set you back very much at all. This is all controlled on the new seven-inch touch-screen display. You can also access your mobile devices through a USB port and an AUX port is also provided.

Two petrol engines with multi-point fuel-injection help bring the fuel consumption figures down as low as 5.9 litres per hundred and a six speed manual or a four speed automatic transmission provides you with more options.

All in all I could not find anything I would have wanted more in the i20 and I would gladly make one my own.
