Kwazulu-Natal Law Society Pays Tribute To The Late Bedver Irving

Kwazulu-Natal Law Society Pays Tribute To The Late Bedver Irving

Date: 2014-03-21
The Council and members of the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society mourn the passing away of Bedver Irving, a member of the Society and former member of its Council and associated entities.

Bedver Irving had an illustrious career in law which culminated in him being appointed as the Managing Director in 2000 of the firm Woodhead, Bigby & Irving. He was also admitted as a practising solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales with his primary areas of expertise in international contracts, insurance, maritime law and specialised High Court litigation.

Given his qualities of integrity, industriousness and fairness Bedver also served with distinction as a member of the Council of the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society as well as on the Boards of Control of the Fidelity Fund and the Durban School for Legal Practice. He was often a unifying factor in all their deliberations and was destined to play a leading role in the governance of the legal profession.

We mourn his passing and record our condolences to his widow, Juliet, their children and friends.
