Durban single mother, Justine Maher has found a solution to that very issue long ago. Justine books into the Suncoast Towers with her ten-year-old son Nathan for a weekend of connecting and "me time" and it is her happy place.
"From the minute we stroll in, we get to bond in an environment that is clean and safe" Justine told The Bugle. For a single mother security for her son and her self is a number one priority. Suncoast has state of the art, around the clock surveillance, ensuring that each visitor is protected. "My son Nathan is a natural born shopper, like his mom and his grandmother, so we love popping into the fashion shop to look at bags and sneakers and then of course we have to browse around the candy shop and pick up some fresh popcorn and a cold drink. This is how our weekend starts."
"There are eight cinemas - showing all the latest Blockbusters. And we take full advantage. The cinema at Suncoast is different from other places, the staff are always cheerful here and kind to us and the movies are well priced too, which is of course a bonus for us."
Justine is a young at heart mom. She is not shy to admit that for her Suncoast is not about gambling; it's the gaming thatis their number one enjoyment. The kids gaming area is where they end up spending most of their time.
"We shoot hoops, race cars, dance and win lots of prizes! I think I spend more tokens than Nathan. Don't tell anyone but I think I have more fun here than he does."
For Justine a weekend away at Suncoast means she does not need to do a thing, as everything is catered for. The food court is the place where they indulge. "We can work up quite an appetite here, so the options available at the food court provide whatever we are in the mood for, be it pizza, a curry, a burger, a toasted sandwich, sushi or SOMETIMES we just throw caution to the wind and eat a double scoop of Italian ice cream for lunch. Because we can!"
However Suncoast is not just about hedonistic decadence, it also has the tranquility and relaxation. "Nathan has a hectic school schedule and we often don't get the chance of really being together, so a weekend away is exactly what the doctor ordered. Each time we end our visit with a walk along the Boardwalk. The Golden Mile is our therapy. This is where we get to wind down after our exciting day. Sometimes we make it to the beach and dip our toes in the sea, breathe in that sea air and talk about Life, The Universe, and Everything else! This is our special time."
