Warrior Women celebrated

Warrior Women celebrated

Date: 2019-08-30

The Robin Hood Foundation hosted a Warrior Women fundraising breakfast in collaboration with Caxton, Dis-Chem Pharmacies, Dis-Chem Foundation, KWV, Onomo Hotel Durban and Rodel on the 15th August from 8-11:30am at Onomo Hotel.

This incredible celebration of women was a morning of pampering and spoils for the three hundred ladies that attended. The event was hosted by MC, Sam Daykin and guests enjoyed inspiring guest speakers Cindy Norcott, Trish Eksteen, Shivanie Naidoo, Chrissy Sibeko, Ursula Coster and Candace Van Wyk, and powerful performances by exceptional local artists Carmen Louisa Rodrigues and Jane Baillie Magner as well as a beautiful poem "Warrior Women, Empowering Women" written and recited by 16 year old, Londeka Dube.

Ladies from all over Durban and surrounds were treated to a welcome glass of champers from KWV to set the tone for the morning, an agenda jam-packed with inspiration and motivation, as well as a beauty, health and wellness expo with the remarkable team of professionals from Dis-Chem, delicious breakfast buffet created by Chef Gu at Onomo Hotel Durban and so much more. Each lady left with a goodie bag worth over R1000!

"The aim of the morning was to highlight and celebrate the women in our community - the action takers, the difference makers, their inner beauty and strength and at the same time raise funds for our Buy-A-Brick 2019 Thandolabantwana Crche uplift and build as well as various other community outreach projects for the remainder of the year," said Cindy Norcott - Founder of The Robin Hood Foundation.

"Our most humble and grateful thanks to our exceptional volunteers and committee for all their help, our incredible event partners, prize sponsors, Elsie Roux from I Do Perfection for the exquisite decor, exhibitors Catwalk Couture, Jennings Fine Foods, Mazwi Landscaping, Mooshimoo, Pro Talent and all our guests for making the morning so much fun and such a great success!" she concluded.
