When I spoke to Sobashnee Pillay, New Car Sales Executive at McCarthy Volkswagen Umhlanga, she told me the most intriguing story of how she came to be involved in car sales.
Sobashnee was studying and between careers when a relative asked her what she was going to do with her career choice. Sobashnee blurted, out of the blue, that she was going to sell cars, no previous though had gone into the decision, it just sprang to mind.
Nothing happened for a while until another friend indicated that they were looking for staff at two motor dealerships. Sobashnee went for the interviews and landed both positions, but it wasn't until the dealer principle came round to her house and coerced her into signing the contract, that she actually got involved.
Since then Sobashnee has taken to the career like a fish to water. Her professional manner and friendly approach has made her popular amongst her customers and colleagues alike.
One of Sobashnee's favourite models in the Volkswagen range is the Golf Cabriolet. I had the joy of test-driving this feisty compact model and it had the hair on my head standing to attention in no time. The model I test drove was an automatic and was equipped with paddle shift levers on the steering wheel. The top dropped on the fly and the seven speed DSG gearbox was exhilarating, even breathtaking at times. Driven conservatively the Golf Cabriolet provided excellent fuel consumption figures.
For a chance to test drive the new Golf Cabriolet, contact Sobashnee on 031 566 9700 or pop in at 6 - 8 Sunset Close and get your hair to stand to attention too.
