Beira Alta restaurant is run by the Guimaraes family, and they have been in Ballito for over twenty years (previously with Beira Mar in Salt Rock). Recipes, which have been passed down through the generation of family chefs and home cooks, have been lovingly adapted to suit the South African palate and impress their regular diners.

Beira Alta's Peri Peri Prawns and Chips is a legendary menu item and people travel from far and wide to treat themselves to this delicacy. Now Beira Alta have just extended their famous 'Lunch Time Specials' to be served on Saturdays.

When you visit Beira Alta in Ballito, you must try one of their signature dishes or the Beira Alta Rump topped with a mushroom, olive and red wine sauce, or the traditional Portuguese speciality Trinchado, cubed beef pan fried, served spicy or plain, then there's the Chef's garlic & chilli fried shrimps, pan fried in olive oil, garlic, sea salt and chilli served with chips. The lunch menu offers a selection of salads and a kiddies menu at just R32.00
