The glittering Miss South Africa finale will take place in March 2016 when Laurie will hand over the crown to her successor who will have a chance to represent the country and compete in the Miss World or Miss Universe pageants.
Sophie Ndaba, a Miss South Africa celebrity judge and MC was looking for passion, a willingness to work hard and ambition in the next Miss South Africa: "You cannot be a South African ambassador if you don't love this country and its people with their various cultures and traditions. If you are not familiar with the different cultures, you need to be willing to learn."
Fellow celebrity judge and writer, Kojo Baffoe will be in the judging hot seat at the semi-finals in Johannesburg in October and also at the grand finale at next year's pageant. He says he is looking for intelligence, maturity, and "the ability to be comfortable with people across all levels of society."
"Authenticity and empathy are critical. All the young women are beautiful so I take that out of the equation, especially when it comes to the last twelve," he continues.
"We certainly look forward to seeing what this year's finalists have to offer. With each year, the panel lists become increasingly impressed with the young woman they meet," said Cell C Executive: Commercial Communications and former Miss South Africa Suzette van der Merwe.
