Bikers do it for charity

Bikers do it for charity

Date: 2016-10-14
The fresh spring weather did not deter the ardent motorcycle enthusiasts of KZN as they gathered for The Sunflower Fund's 4th Annual Bikers4Hope breakfast ride, in association with the KZN Motorcycle Federation, which took place on Sunday 2nd October. The bikers were treated to a welcomed cup of hot coffee courtesy of Wimpy and Torrador at the NPN Auto Centre Pinetown where the mass ride commenced from.

The biker convoy enjoyed the beautiful ride up Fields Hill en route to Shongweni Farmers & Craft Market which was only slightly marred by the light scatters of rain. Donning their trendy Sunflower Topes and commemorative 2016 cloth badges, the bikers were in high spirits as they enjoyed lunch and craft beer overlooking the idyllic Shongweni valley.

Popular contemporary band, DV8, entertained guests and there was plenty of fun and prize giveaways as well as an exciting raffle.

Funds raised from the event will enable The Sunflower Fund to create awareness, and to educate and recruit more stem cell donors to increase the number of people registered on the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) and offer the hope of life to someone suffering from a chronic blood condition like leukaemia.

The Sunflower Fund would like to thank the KZNMF, NPN Auto Centre Pinetown, Shongweni Farmers & Craft Market, Anna's Glass Art, Embroider It @ Parklane, DV8, Vibrant Direct and all other associated sponsors.
