Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

"Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold. But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which colour to slide down on the rainbow."Douglas Pagels

Ok so here I was thinking 2014 would be an amazing year, a year where we can finally see the clear blue horizon and then Wham-Bam! The dramatic slide of the Rand has brought the price of petrol to almost R14 a litre and the local economists predict another hike in less then two months if the Rand continues to perform so poorly.

Not a good sign to the start of the year and sadly it's just the beginning.

Last week was a real roller coasterplanning any major trip is out of the question and I feel so sorry for my friends with interests overseas, importing goods from overseas is just not an option any longer.

I guess on the positive note, it means that many businesses, which have previously been manufacturing products overseas, will now look to do it here. My friend Chris has recently made plans to move his production from China to Dube Trade Port, a great position if you want to reach the international market fast and conveniently.

But there are some angry South Africans losing a lot of money due to this unfortunate currency crisis that we are experiencing at the moment. Sadly there is no getting away from it as this economic catastrophe will have a spin off and affect all of us; the question right now is how deep will it penetrate into our micro local economy.

Some say that the weaker Rand will make South Africa attractive to the overseas markets but that is just a big pile of hogwash. The overseas market is stretched and contrary to some reports Europe as well as the Americas is in their own financial turmoil.

Oh wellnow more than ever that little plot of land somewhere near a fresh water stream seems like the perfect alternative to this rat race. I guess I am slightly peeved off about the state of our economy and now more than ever I am questioning our leadership.

Ok enough victim mode here, I am suppose to be motivational. Please excuse me thankfully Valentine's Day is just around the corner I see butterflies and hearts and flowers. There is something about Valentine's Day that is so sweet and magical - but it is only available to you if you sign up to the belief.

Personally I do not have any plans for the day but I have some brilliant ideas, read page 9I guess after twenty years of marriage its hard to spark the magic flame for just one day - I am of the opinion that the Valentine Love Flame should burn all year...What do you think?

So here is a message to all of youPeace be to all who search. Peace be to everything in which it searches. Peace be to all who realize that peace is everywhere.
