I am romantic at heart but that is not the reason why I think Valentine's Day is a cool celebration. I just love any day when I can revel. Parties are one of my favourite pass times and I would love to encourage all my readers this year, to let your hair down and have a little fun.
Whether it is a romantic dinner for two at your favourite diner, an amorous rendezvous in a secret location or a quixotic group dress up party for all your cool friends, no "buzz-busters' invited! Valentine's Day comes only once a year and you should celebrate it regardless.
I hear you saying in the background, "What if I don't have anyone to celebrate Valentine's Day with?" Well don't despair, with just over two weeks to go there is plenty of people who are in the same position, and I am sure they would love to join your Valentine festivities. But don't take my word for it, ask around, write to a local paper (like The Bugle) and you would be surprised just how many people do not want to spend Valentine's Day on their own.
It really doesn't hurt to look! There are great dating websites out there with large database of people. Check out your Facebook connections (I was recently invited to a single's picnic and I am not even looking). There must be a few lonely hearts to approach in your immediate circle of influence. You never know, you might just meet the mate of your dreams.
One thing that I found out early in life is that if there's anyone good at matchmaking, it's your family. They know who you areand can find the perfect date for you. Their network of acquaintances is vast and you can use it to get to know someone that suits your interest. Your uncle might have a younger colleague that he can invite for dinner. Grab the chance and don't let it slip away - you don't need any excuses here.
It also helps to be happy at this time of the year. Smile at everyone you see. There isn't a friendlier thing to do, and you'll cheer up everyone around you! You'll also increase the chances of starting a conversation with somebody random, and who knows where that could lead? Soquit being shyand smile!
If none of these ideas appeal to you then throw a party, invite your single mates, get them to bring a few single friends, see if some of your married and partnered friends will come along. You can also ask them to bring along extras. In that way you can have all your friends around for a fun filled night to celebrate love.
However the best tip to finding a date beforeValentine's Dayis to pamper yourself, and then go out and have fun with your best buddy! You are at your most attractive when you are feeling happy and having fun, so make yourself irresistible and shine.
These are a just a few ideas on howto fill that Valentine datethis Valentine's Day. At the end of the day, it's up to you how you guide yourself in seeking the best person for you if you're single, or honouring the partner you're with. May love find you and yours wherever you are.
