What's the issue?

What's the issue?

They are calling the flooding in England "Biblical Flooding" so sever is the extent of water levels. We could use a little of that Biblical stuff down here in old S.A. maybe not the flooding, unless it was in the Karoo, but some Biblical intervention in the drought of intelligence would be a great help.

A flood of good intentions would be nice, unlike the deluge of despair we are feeling with the upcoming elections. Even the IEC is quivering with trepidation over the element of unrest that is expected to erupt in protest areas where political parties are vying for votes.

We could use a down poring of the rule of law, like in the ten billion Rand unlawful social grants tender, which loos like it will be swept under the carpet, or thrown out with the bathwater more appropriately.

Even the NASA thinks there is water flowing on Mars, a little pick me up for us humans, there might be a place to run to after all. That is if we get space travel right in time before things like the first missile shield destroyer arriving in Europe recently. That should raise a few hairs on the back of your neck.

The laughable attempts at peace talks for Syria actually make my blood boil over like the banks of the Thames.  al-Assad will never get what he deserves for allowing the blood bath to go on and for targeting his own civilians. I'm sorry, the International Crimes Court's astounding record of just one conviction in its eight years of establishment makes me think that al-Assad will get away with the atrocities and the massive lump of cash or gold or titanium or whatever it is he looks set to drag away from the conflict. Like all the other tyrants who have gone before him, he will probably live in luxury for the rest of his days, regardless of the outcome.

Why the gloomy weather outlook? I'll tell you why. It's not just the heavy rains on the plains in England, it is the Iranians test firing ballistic missiles just days before the nuclear talks. It is the belligerent attitude of Kim Jong Il, it is the finger poking the spectacles further up the nose in an defiant gesture of "Stop me if you can, it is all mine."

Everywhere I look there is a flood of really bad leadership, smoking crack and getting away with it, plundering the coffers and getting a sideways transfer. Police chiefs dealing in international drug smuggling, Presidents fornicating with prostitutes and remaining in office, the world has gone mad. So I think maybe, just maybe I should close my umbrella, give in to the deluge of human despicability, and just go singing on the rain in my most demented tone of voice. Or maybe not.
