The Drama Erupted on The First Corner

The Drama Erupted on The First Corner

Date: 2012-09-05
The drama erupted on the first corner of the race when carnage erupted in thousands of bits of expensive Formula 1 car pieces flying all over the track and employing the safety car and eliminating championship points leader Fernando Alonso along with Sauber's Sergio Perez, McLaren's Lewis Hamilton Lotus's Romain Grosjean.

Once the debris was cleared up, Jenson Button took total ownership of Belgium's Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Button lead the rest of the way to take the chequered flag more than thirteen seconds ahead of Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull who must have been glad to take the valuable points on offer in second place.

Lotus driver Romain Grosjean was given a one race ban and a fifty thousand Euro fine for causing the accident at the first corner, however his team mate Kimi Raikkkonen managed to pull of third place for the up and coming team.

In the driver's championship stakes, Fernando Alonso is in first place on 164 points followed closely by the Red Bull drivers Sebastian Vettel with 140 and Mark Webber on 132, Raikkonen's podium earned him fourth position with 131.

In the constructors championship Red Bull maintains their lead on 272 point followed by McLaren with 218. Don't take your eyes off Lotus who lie in third with 207 followed by Ferrari's on just 199.

With tyres playing such an important role, you would be wise to get down to Hi-Q Stanger, where they will gladly evaluate your needs and put you into some quality rubber that will make your driving that much safer. See advert for details.
