Strategic Leadership Seminar
Speaking to the nation President Zuma's address focused on the state of the country's economy. Zuma spoke of the country's quest to achieve a resilient and fast growing economy, as part of South Africa's radical economic transformation agenda and National Development Plan. However, South Africa's challenged economy since the financial crisis in 2008 continues and is now worsened by volatile financial markets. South Africa's natural resources are generating less income and the economies of SA's trading partners are also expected to contract significantly.
"Business has met with government and has offered suggestions on how to turn the situation around and put the economy back on its growth path. This time the economic development choices that the government must enable business to make must be accompanied by employment creating growth for South Africa to remain competitive and relevant on the African and global stage. Our value as a strategic advisory firm is to facilitate leaders in the private and public sectors to find effective solutions by creating platforms to stimulate debate and promote constructive dialogue in order to positively impact performance and economic growth," says Dudu Msomi, CEO, Busara Leadership Partners.
The seminar aims to tackle what should be occupying the mind and time of a leader. "Knowing and understanding the trends and issues that are influencing South Africa makes a difference between being a figurehead and follower from being a strategic and effective leader. Responsive strategies are a result of the quality, the timing and the type of input a leader seeks, in order to have a sufficient lead-time so as to lead effectively and to react to change," adds Msomi.
