Rosie Is A Star

Rosie Is A Star

Author: Tomas Yoko
Date: 2014-07-04
Narisama Naidoo was born and raised in La Mercy in a family of academics and literates. Her academic future was as bright as any one of her siblings and her dreams and aspirations surely matched them like for like.

Narasima could not have known that her family's need for someone to take care of her Grandfather, who had lost his sight, would set her life on a different course to her siblings.

Rosie, as Narasima is affectionately known left school at standard three to take care of her Grandfather. Perfectly suited to the task, Rosie's capacity for love and compassion allowed her to give care, love and attention without a selfish thought.

Rosie married the love of her life, the boy next door and childhood sweetheart 'Sonny' Moonsamy Naidoo and the union produced two fine young sons. Her talent in the kitchen matched her enthusiasm to please her family and friends with delicious feasts and midnight servings of sweet rice. Her green fingers had vegetables herbs and flowers growing all around their home.

Rosie may not have had the academic foundation that many of her family members had, however she showed a depth of understanding and love that could be considered a special gift. Never judgmental, always accepting and understanding Rosie is a beacon of love and support for all who know her.

Rosie's strong Sadhana and deep spiritual commitment and understanding helped her to deal with the tragic death of her first born son in a motorcycle accident, and later again to deal with the tragic news of being diagnosed with cancer in 2013.

"I am what I am today because of her," says Vinesh, Rosie's second born, "I kneel down and kiss her feet in adoration of her magnificent persona."

Rosie, you have got it right and we wish you well on your road to recovery.
