New Toyota Hilux Tops The Charts

New Toyota Hilux Tops The Charts

Date: 2016-06-10
A market-leading tally of 3 185 Hilux units helped Toyota retain its number one status with an overall sales volume just shy of 10 000 units (9 642) for the fifth consecutive month this year. This puts Toyota 44,5 per cent or 2 964 units ahead of its nearest competitor in the retail race. It also means that Toyota currently enjoys a market share of 22,5 per cent - a record high for this year.

Calvyn Hamman, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Toyota South Africa Motors, provides some interesting insights on this month's results: "Taking a closer look at the Hilux numbers reveals that 90 per cent of the sales, which equates to 3200 units, is via the dealer channel; once again reinforcing just how popular this vehicle is with private buyers."

A striking design with bold, aggressive lines puts the all-new Hilux at the forefront of modern bakkies the world over. With new highly advanced engines, an updated six-speed* transmission and an even more rigid, robust frame, the legendary status of the all-new Hilux has been taken to a whole new level.

Two new engines have been added to the line-up - the 2.4 GD and 2.8 GD-6 delivering more variety and more power. Considered the bakkie of choice for anyone who needs to tackle any challenge, the all-new Hilux will without a doubt be the toughest bakkie around. With better torque, more driving enjoyment, more luxury comforts and better stability on and off-road. The all-new Hilux sets the bar for the next generation.

To take one for a test drive contact CMH Toyota Umhlanga on 031 - 580 4000 or visit them at their showroom at 1 Wilton Crescent, Umhlanga Ridge and experience the new Hilux today.
