Fabulous Fun At Ford's EcoBoost Challenge

Fabulous Fun At Ford's EcoBoost Challenge

Date: 2016-11-11
Ford recently held an EcoBoost Challenge at the Pavilion Shopping Centre, Game Court where there was a range of exciting challenges designed to exhibit the abilities of their technologically advanced EcoBoost engines.

There was the Ford Focus and Ford Fusion hands free parallel parking that showed how easy it can be if you own a Ford.

The highlight of the day was the EcoSport urban obstacle course, complete with a really irritating, whistle blowing obstacle that really got into your mind.

Then there was the Fiesta Slalom Challenge and the muscular Ford Mustang braking experience.

It was an event filled with thrills and excitement and the hero of the day was the Ford EcoBoost engine.

Ford completely changed the game for small petrol engines when the 1.0-litre EcoBoost was launched in 2012, redefining the standards for performance in a small capacity engine.

"Ford's EcoBoost engines have been one of our great success stories, with the 1.0 EcoBoost having dominated the International Engine of the Year awards since introduction," says Tracey Delate, General Marketing Manager, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA).

"It was awarded 'Best New Engine' in its first year, and became the only engine in history to have won the coveted International Engine of the Year title three years in a row, from 2012 to 2014. Additionally, it remains unbeaten in the Sub 1-Litre category, having held onto this title for five consecutive years, from 2012 to 2016.
